Tip in / Tip out account

To be able to add tips/gratuity to an on going transaction in the POS an income line is added to the transaction. For the income/expense account operation to work in the POS the accounts first must be setup for each of your stores.

Create an income account for tips in

  1. Go to Sites > [Sites/Terminals] Stores > edit your store

  2. In the store view open the Income/Expense accounts tab. In this tab you see a list of all income and expense accounts that exist for the selected store.

  3. Add a new account by pressing the add button. This opens the New Income or Expense Account Dialog

  4. Enter a name and name alias for the account and choose the account type: Tips in

  5. The Ledger account is for informational purpose only in LS One but this field can be used to set the G/L account in an integration to a financial system.

 

Create an expense account for tips out

If the tips are to be paid out directly from the terminals then you also need to create an expense account.

  1. Go to Sites > [Sites/Terminals] Stores > edit your store

  2. In the store view open the Income/Expense accounts tab. In this tab you see a list of all income and expense accounts that exist for the selected store.

  3. Add a new account by pressing the add button. This opens the New Income or Expense Account Dialog

  4. Enter a name and name alias for the account and choose the account type: Tips out

  5. The Ledger account is for informational purpose only in LS One but this field can be used to set the G/L account in an integration to a financial system.
