Technical information

When sending both inventory transfer requests and inventory transfer orders to another store the Site Service is used. The Site Service is a central data service that allows multiple access points (Site Managers and POSs) to share data. Fetching the data from the Site Service happens automatically once the appropriate views are opened in the Site Manager.

Transfer Requests

A store will send an inventory transfer request to the Site Service, and when the receiving store next checks its inventory transfer requests it will get this new request from the Site Service. The receiving store can then create an inventory transfer order that it will then send to the sending store.

Transfer Orders

A store will create an inventory transfer order (either based on a request or not) and then send it to the Site Service. This will update the inventory of the sending store. When the receiving store receives the goods it will then go to its inventory transfer orders, fetch the sent transfer order from the Site Service and receive it, and by doing so increase its inventory.

Inventory in transit

Any store can look up the inventory in transit in the Site Manager. This information is fetched through the Site Service.
