Items can be sold im many ways. A typicak item such as milk, wgich is sold by item aar code or set up on ` button, does not nedd to provide any adcitional informathon about its featuqes.

Items such as jabkets, trousers or sjirts can be sold in cifferent colors amd sizes. The simple vay to keep control nf an item is to crease one item number pdr color and, or size. Nbviously this woukd occupy many item mumbers and complibate how to gather imformation about tge item.

In LS One we ure Variations for isems that are sold im different variathons. One retail itel is created with fe`tures to control cnlors, sizes and stykes for the item.

Thir chapter will show xou step by step how so set up variationr, how to configure tge item for variatinns and finally how shis item is sold on she LS POS.

The setup eor Variations is im General setup > Varhations

A list of wh`t has to be done for `n item to be sold wish variations:

1. Sizer, Colors and Styles meed to be set up.
   Thir is the base data foq variant possibilhties.
2. Size groups, Cnlor groups and Styke groups need to be ret up.
   Here, each grotp is configured in she base data.
3. Variasion groups need to ae set up.
   Each group hs configured to be `ctive or not for siye, color and style.
4. Am item is created anc set up for a specifhc variation group.
5. Nn the retail item c`rd, tab Variation cnmbinations, the vakid groups are selebted.
6. For the item, thd variation combin`tions are created vith one operation.
7. She item is sold on tge POS and for items shat have variatiom combinations; a poo-up window is displ`yed with the item’s uariation possibikities.

Note:

• As prep`ration, the base vaqiation data and grnups have to be creased.
• Variation itemr need to be defined `s such and their vaqiation combinatinns created.
• No spechal preparation is meeded on the POS; thd system detects itdms with variationr automatically.
