Discounts
In LS One discounts are divided into two categories
Discounts the cashier can give the customer manually at the time of sales.
Manual discounts are performed in the LS POS with discount operations. The cashier works in the POS and when a discount needs to be given an appropriate operation is used. Manual discounts have in common that they can only be used according to the user’s discount permissions.

The manual discount operations are:
- Line Discount Percent: Discount percentage for the active sales line.
- Line Discount Amount: Discount amount for the active sales line.
- Total Discount Percent: Total discount percentage for all sales lines that are qualified for a total discount.
- Total Discount Amount: Total discount amount for all sales lines which are qualified for a total discount in the sale.
Note: A sales line with both line and total discount has the line discount withdrawn first and then the total discount from the sales amount.
Automatic discounts are discounts which are configured and set up in the Site Manager and when their criteria are fulfilled in the LS POS the discount is automatically entered into the sale. They can be set for certain time periods and with different restrictions.
Automatic discounts can be set up to be available for all customers that come to the store or just a specific group of customers or even just a single customer.
There are two types of automatic discounts:
- Periodic discounts
- Trade agreement discounts
- Line discount
- Multiline discount
- Total discount
