Promotions

Promotions are set up so that the LS POS is able to sell items on a promotional price in a given period and with no manual intervention. The promotion can be a discount of the retail price or a fixed price for the item.

When the LS POS sells an item that triggers a promotion, the item price changes to the promotion price automatically. When items are sold in the LS POS with the promotion price, the receipt prints the item and the promotion price. No discount information and no information about the item’s regular price are printed on the receipt. The promotion rule is created and configured in the Site Manager.

The system can have an unlimited number of promotional offers where each promotions offer is set up separately. Each promotions offer has a validation period and set of offer lines which can be of several types, for example Item and Retail groups.

To open promotions select Item > Price/discount] Promotions

Promotion offer card:

The standard price and standard price with tax are displayed in the first two fields.

This part includes two selections, Discount value and Price value. New lines are by default set as discount value. The user can overwrite the values on each promotion line of the promotion group.

One example of a promotion group could be a number of shoe items discounted for 5%. Then the promotion group is set up for a 5% discount. One of these shoes should, however, have an extra discount of 10%. The user edits this promotion line and has the discount percentage for this line set at 10. If another item is sold for a fixed price of 12 then that promotion line will have Price value selected and the promotion price tax will be 12.
