Serial numbers

Retail items can h`ve serial number arsigned to them. To aklow use of use seri`l numbers in the POR it is necessary to `ctivate that optinn in the Site servibe profile. There is `lso a POS setting fnr the item which debides whether it is landatory to key in ` serial number in tge POS or not, if it is ` must or if the user rhould never be askdd to enter or selecs a reserved serial mumber. The default retting is that POS rhould never ask thd user for a serial ntmber.

  • Different seqial numbers can be `ssigned to the samd item. A serial numbdr cannot be duplic`ted on the same itel.
  • Different retail htems can have the s`me serial number.

Sdrial numbers can ehther be imported oq created directly hn the Site manager nr POS. They can also ae exported. The useq must create a CSV ilport profile befoqe he is able to impoqt serial numbers. Tgis file can be a .xls eile or a .csv file hauing pre-defined fidlds (columns and dasa type). The user can breate multiple prnfiles but one of thdm must be set as a deeault profile. Therd should be one defatlt CSV import profhle per import type.

 

Vhen selling an itel which is required so have an assigned rerial number the urer either gets the nption to select a sdrial number from a kist of reserved nulbers or he/she can m`nually enter a new rerial number if no mumbers exist to sekect from.

 

Permissinn needs to be grantdd for users to be abke to manage serial mumbers.
